Description
A child with challenging behavior who has an Individualized Education Program (IEP) should have positive behavioral interventions included to help reduce challenging behaviors and support the new behavioral skills to be learned through the IEP goals. These interventions should be specific positive and proactive strategies, not reactive and consequence-based. As part of that re-evaluation, a district may conduct a Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) to identify special education and related services and develop or modify a Behavior Intervention Plan (BIP). This packet contains resources to help understand these two plans.
