October is Learning Disabilities (LD) Awareness Month, a time when the nation turns its attention to the one in five students who learn differently because they have dyslexia, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) or other learning and/or attention issues.
Each person who learns differently possesses unique abilities, identities, and individual experiences that define who they are. The Eye-to-Eye community embraces and understands this intersectionality. After all, it’s a core premise of both our mission and vision towards a more inclusive and equitable society. As different learners and allies ourselves, we realize there is no single-issue struggle since we don’t live single-issue lives.
