For some students with disabilities, getting ready for life after high school takes planning and the involvement of the student, their families, and educators. This webinar will outline the key concepts of transition planning and provide resources on how to involve youth in the process.

Participants will be provided training on how to write measurable transition goals that are designed with the student’s choices in mind for further education, employment, and independent living.

This training is part of the WAZE to Adulthood project a collaborative initiative between TNSTEP and PEATC (Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center).

 

WAZE to Adulthood is an RSA-funded project of Virginia’s Parent Educational Advocacy Training Center (PEATC) aimed at providing youth/young adults with disabilities, their families, and those professionals who serve them up-to-date, high-quality resources, information, and training to meet their diverse needs. PEATC, as Region B1 RSA Parent Center, works in collaboration with parent training centers and other disability organizations throughout the five state region, including Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, and Flordia, to identify and address state-specific gaps in services and systems to help improve long term outcomes for individuals with disabilities. TNSTEP is a partner with the WAZE to Adulthood project.
