Concerned about having a healthy brain as you age? Want to learn the tools for a healthy brain to teach to the young people in your life?

About this Event

Your brain controls how you feel physically and emotionally, how you learn and remember, and your relationships, including how you feel about yourself. Maybe you have been thinking more about your own memory and hope to age gracefully. We will discuss the many negative factors on brain performance, and the positive, research-based steps you can take to improve your brain. We will discuss how beginning to make small changes now can make a big impact on maintaining a healthy brain over time. Learn about the effects of food, attitude, toxins, reducing stress, exercise, and more. We will cover tips that can help you to have a healthier brain regardless of your age.

Brain Links and Healing Heads have joined to bring you “Supporting Brain Health.”

Presenter: Wendy Ellmo MS CCC/SLP, BCNCDS is a Speech-Language Pathologist, Brain Injury Specialist, and Certified Brain Health Coach. After working for many years in a Brain Trauma Unit, Wendy became more aware of the need to take care of our brains across our lifetime, whether they have been injured in an accident, or just subject to life’s toxins and challenges. Wendy now works for Brain Links, a grant-funded program of the Tennessee Disability Coalition. Wendy is on the Board of the Healing Heads Foundation.

The Healing Heads Foundation’s mission is to provide matching grant funds to eligible people who have a stroke/brain injury and live in Middle Tennessee. The funds enable them to participate in rehabilitation after insurance funds run out which allows them to maximize their recovery. To learn more about Healing Heads or to donate, visit healingheadstn.org. 100% of donations go directly to Healing Heads grants for people with brain injury. healingheadstn.org
