Research tells us people with disabilities have better lives when they feel a sense of control over their own lives. What role do siblings play in making that a reality for our brothers and sisters with disabilities? Join this free, informal virtual chat hosted by Tennessee Adult Brothers and Sisters (TABS) to learn tips and tools for supporting your sibling to make more choices and decisions. Our guests for this chat will include:

  • Penny Johnson with the BRAND NEW Tennessee Center for Decision-Making Support – a statewide resource that helps people with disabilities and their families learn about all kinds of options, including supported decision-making, conservatorship, power of attorney, financial tools, and much more; and
  • Camron Hurt with Disability Rights Tennessee – our state’s legal protection and advocacy agency for people with disabilities.

Whether your sibling is in conservatorship, your family uses other legal tools, or you haven’t started looking into options yet, this chat is for you! You’ll have a chance to ask questions and brainstorm ideas with our experts.
