A training program for individuals who are willing to become advocates for families navigating the special education process.

TRAINING WILL COVER:
• The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act
• State law
• The Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act
• Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act

The training is held once a year across the state.

FALL 2020 SCHEDULE:

MONDAYS
9:00 AM (CST) – 12:00 PM (CST)
10:00 AM (EST) – 1:00 PM (EST)

▪ September 7        ▪ October 19
▪ September 14      ▪ October 26
▪ September 21      ▪ November 2

LOCATIONS:
**Due to COVID-19, the training will be conducted via Zoom video conference platform. Each participant may log in
from their personal device (e.g., cell phone, computer, etc.).**

REQUIREMENTS:
• Attend all 12 (3 hour) sessions
• Advocate for 4 families of children with disabilities after completing the training
• Fee: $75
