Social and Emotional Learning for the New (NOT) Normal Webinar

  • May 20, 2020 - 2:30pm

Interest in Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) has increased, and it can play an important role in helping kids, parents, and teachers adapt to remote learning. Even more importantly, it is essential in helping students develop the resiliency to anticipate and thrive through the next shift.

It is unlikely that things can ever return to the way they were, even when school buildings re-open, so in this webinar, we want to focus on how parents, teachers, and children can all build up our ability to deal with the New (NOT) Normal.

In this webinar, we will:

• Identify the key social and emotional competencies for living and thriving in a changing and challenging world.
• Share a practical research-based approach to being able to identify our own emotions (self-awareness), as parents, teachers, as well as how to help our children with this.
• Discuss the neuroscience of self-management (executive functions) and how those skills develop.
• Share some very practical and very fun ways parents and teachers can engage students in strengthening their self-awareness, self-management, and resilience.
