About this Event

This workshop will be presented by Julie Araujo, OTS., and Eliza De Armas, OTS., who are completing their Masters in Occupational Therapy at D’Youville College.

Julie is interested in helping adolescents with disabilities transition into adulthood. She looks forward to practicing in urban settings to build therapeutic alliances with clients.

Eliza Is interested in pet-assisted therapy and incorporating mental health into practice. She looks forward to advocating for the use of OT in as many settings as possible. Eliza and Julie are currently completing their Level II Fieldwork rotation at Shema Kolainu-Hear Our Voices under the supervision of Occupational Therapist, Alexa Moses, M.S., OTR/L.

This workshop will go over the definitions of Occupational Therapy, Telehealth, and explore the implementation of OT strategies within the telehealth platform in relation to the pediatric autism population. Participants can expect to learn how to use OT-based strategies and techniques via telehealth in order to address Activities of Daily Living, Sensory, Fine Motor, and Visual Motor difficulties that children with autism can encounter.

* Once registered, participants will receive an email with webinar information before the date of the workshop, space is limited the day of the webinar.

**Attendees must be present for the whole presentation and complete a survey at the end to qualify for a Certificate of Attendance.
