Due to the severe storms that swept through the Hamilton County area Sunday night, STEP, Disability Rights Tennessee (DRT), and the Hamilton County Department of Education has made the decision to postpone the Virtual Information Exchange Session originally scheduled for Tuesday, April 14, until Tuesday, April 28, from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm, EST.

Hamilton County Department of Exceptional Education (HCDE) is excited to share with families and educators their response to COVID-19 and what steps they are taking to provide services to students during the time of school closures.
The regularly scheduled quarterly Information Exchange Session will be held virtually.
You will hear updates from Dr. Justin Robertson, Chief Schools Officer, and Garfield Adams, Director of Exceptional Education. As always, there will be a question and answer time with HCDE leadership and the exceptional education team.
STEP and Disability Rights TN staff members will provide participants with current guidance from the Tennessee Department of Education on the rights of students with disabilities during school closures, and resources to enhance your at-home learning and activities.
Registration is required and participants will be admitted to the ZOOM meeting at the beginning of the session. The session will not be recorded, and every effort will be made to ensure this is a secure and safe space for families and educators to have an open conversation, just like we experience when we gather together.
