The Autism Society of East TN will be hosting its annual Autism Conference in Pigeon Forge this year on July 30 and 31 with internationally known Dr. Temple Grandin and regionally known Dr. Bill Allen speaking as well as a wide variety of breakout sessions geared toward helping families and educators navigate the autism world.
Temple Grandin is an autistic adult who has become the unofficial spokesperson for autism. Temple will do a 2-hour presentation and then a 2 hour Q&A session on July 31.
Bill Allen is a clinical psychologist who works at Cherokee Health Systems in Morristown and is one of the only local places we have to obtain an Autism diagnosis. He’s regionally known as our local “autism guru.” He and several of his colleagues at Cherokee will have breakout sessions all day on July 30.
