This webinar is designed for parents and/or caregivers who desire to learn what “bullying” means, laws and policies to protect students with disabilities, and how they can support their children and schools with the prevention, witnessing, and/or victimization of bullying.

Deborah Yates McBride, TNSTEP, Director of Rural Services and Professional Development Specialist
Deborah began providing services with TNSTEP as a contracted District Parent Trainer in 2012 and transitioned into a full-time staff position in October 2016. Deborah holds a B.S. in Special Education from Bethel University, McKenzie, TN, and an M.Ed. in Special Education from Grand Canyon University, Phoenix, AZ. Deborah represents the Southwest Developmental District for the Tennessee Council on Developmental Disabilities appointed by Governor Haslam in 2013. She spent the majority of her professional life teaching students with disabilities within the public school system. Deb is the mother of four children. She attained personal knowledge of navigating the educational system by advocating for two of her children with exceptionalities. Deb’s extensive background as a special educator as well as personal experiences provides her a unique ability to understand the logistics of the educational system as well as best practices, accommodations, and modifications necessary for student success.
