Vanderbilt Volunteer Advocacy Project 2027
The 2027 Volunteer Advocacy Project (VAP) trains individuals in Tennessee who want to advocate for people and families accessing special education services. This 12-week training program helps participants strengthen their knowledge of special education and their advocacy skills. Participants will attend 12 virtual Zoom sessions. Sessions are held weekly on Tuesdays from 5-7 p.m. CST and run from January 19th to April 13th. Interested participants can also complete two brief surveys, one before and one after the VAP, which will be used to measure the VAP’s effectiveness at promoting special education knowledge, feelings of disability connectedness, and advocacy skills.
