This workshop is for families who have children being served through Part C Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS) to assist them in preparing for the transition to Part B services. The information is family-friendly, realizing that the world of special education is complex and can be overwhelming to families.

This training covers:

• Notification and Transition Plan Requirements
• Eligibility Criteria for Part B Services
• Timelines and Procedural Safeguards
• Preparing for Differences in Part C and Part B Services
• Preparing for your child’s first IEP meeting
• Families will leave with tools to help them be engaged in team meetings, including using effective communication strategies, record keeping, using data to make decisions, sharing information about their child’s needs, and much more.
